Tri County Wolfpack Boys Gain Early Lead on Cedar Bluffs

The Tri County Wolfpack traveled to Cedar Bluffs on Monday December 8th to face the Wildcats.  The Wolfpack came out storming, outscoring the Wildcats 24 to 4 in the first quarter.  By half time, the Wolfpack was up 47-7.  This significant lead allowed for Coach Blohm to utilize his bench during the 2nd half of the game.  The Wolfpack earned their first win of the season.  Final score, Tri County Northeast 63, Cedar Bluffs 12.

Points leader for the Wolfpack was senior Reed Hingst who racked up 18 on the night followed closely by fellow senior Steven Sullivan with 13 points.  Almost every player off the bench was able to get some buckets for the team.  As a team, the Wolfpack shot 69% on the night.

Reed Hingst and Ty Krommenhoek led in rebounds, each with 3.  Both had 2 offensive and 1 defensive rebound.  Garrett Blanke, Josh Olesen, and Nate Oswald were also key rebounders on the night.

Hingst also led the team in steals with 3 while senior Kobe Kumm had 5 steals.

Coach Blohm’s comments: “The team had to long drive but were able to respond with high intensity from the jump. It was a lot of fun to see what our defense can do. Our seniors were huge factors in all aspects of the game. Friday is another test with L-C-C, and we are excited for the challenge.”

The team has two upcoming road games facing LCC on Thursday December 10th and then Hartington-Newcastle on December 15th
