Homer Pulls Away Late to Hand TCNE 63–53 Loss

Tri County Northeast battled through four quarters but could not overcome Homer’s balanced scoring and second-quarter surge in a 63–53 conference loss Tuesday night.

The Wolfpack struck first, edging the Knights 18–15 in the opening quarter, but Homer responded with a decisive run in the second period. The Knights outscored TCNE 22–10 in the quarter to seize a 37–28 halftime advantage, a swing that ultimately shaped the outcome.

The Wolfpack finished 20-of-58 from the field (34%), including 5-of-24 from three-point range (21%). The Wolfpack were solid at the free-throw line, converting 8-of-19 attempts (42%), but missed opportunities at the stripe and from long range limited their ability to close the gap.

Sophomore Tucker Anderson led the Wolfpack with 12 points, adding energy on both ends of the floor. Senior Thatcher Lamp followed with 11 points and three rebounds, while junior Landyn Servine contributed 9 points and sophomore Logan Morgan added 7 points.

Additional scoring came from Jaxon Hall (4 points), Knox Lamp (4), Atlee Anderson (2), Cody Malasek (2) and Jude Ridenour (2), highlighting the Wolfpack’s depth but also the absence of a single dominant scoring threat.

TCNE collected 31 rebounds, led by Hall’s seven and Servine’s five, and recorded 14 assists, showing stretches of effective ball movement. However, the Wolfpack were hampered by 19 turnovers, which Homer converted into key scoring opportunities.

Defensively, TCNE generated 9 steals and 3 blocks, but Homer’s ability to maintain offensive rhythm and control the tempo proved decisive.

Tri County Northeast outscored Homer 15–9 in the fourth quarter, but the rally came too late to erase the deficit created in the middle quarters.
