Wausa Pulls Away from TCNE with Balanced Attack, 79–50
The Wolfpack showed flashes of competitiveness but struggled to keep pace with Wausa’s offensive efficiency and sustained pressure in a 79–50 conference loss Thursday night at home in Allen.
The Vikings built control early and never relinquished it, using consistent scoring across all four quarters to separate from the Wolfpack. Wausa led 20–11 after the first quarter and widened the gap to 44–26 by halftime. Despite a steadier third quarter from TCNE, the Vikings continued to stretch the margin, outscoring the Wolfpack 35–24 in the second half to secure the win.
The difference in the game came down largely to shooting efficiency and shot selection. TCNE finished 17-of-60 from the field (28%), including 7-of-32 from three-point range (22%). The Wolfpack did find success at the free-throw line, converting 9-of-12 attempts (75%), but the inability to consistently convert field goals made it difficult to keep the game within reach.
Senior Thatcher Lamp led the Wolfpack with 12 points and 9 rebounds, providing a steady inside presence and contributing across multiple facets of the game. Sophomore Tucker Anderson added 10 points, along with 3 rebounds and 2 assists, showcasing his ability to score from both the perimeter and the free-throw line.
Devin Reinert chipped in 6 points, while Logan Morgan and Jude Ridenour each scored 5 points. Junior Atlee Anderson contributed 4 points, and Jaxon Hall and Landyn Servine each added 3 points.
On the glass, TCNE collected 30 total rebounds, led by Lamp’s nine and Blake Kneifl’s four, but the Wolfpack’s effort on the boards was offset by 20 turnovers, which gave Wausa additional scoring opportunities.
The Wolfpack recorded 9 steals and 2 blocks, showing defensive activity, but Wausa’s ability to convert off turnovers and maintain offensive rhythm proved decisive. TCNE’s assist total (12) reflected moments of solid ball movement, yet long scoring droughts prevented sustained momentum.
