Wolfpack Fall on the Road at Winnebago

Wolfpack Fall on the Road at Winnebago

The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack ran into a hot-shooting Winnebago Indians squad Tuesday night, dropping a 91–67 in conference play on January 13.

Winnebago set the pace early, building a 21–14 first-quarter lead and extending the margin to 44–23 by halftime. The Indians continued to push the tempo in the second half, outscoring the Wolfpack 27–31 in the third quarter before closing with a 20–13 edge in the fourth.

Tri County Northeast finished the game shooting 53 percent from the field (24-of-45) and 44 percent from three-point range (8-of-18), while converting 11-of-17 free throws. Despite the efficient shooting night, the Wolfpack struggled to slow Winnebago’s balanced scoring and transition attack.

Senior Thatcher Lamp led TCNE with 18 points, knocking down shots from both inside and beyond the arc. Junior Landyn Servine followed with 16 points, while sophomore Tucker Anderson added 13 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting performance, including 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. Logan Morgan contributed eight points, and Jude Ridenour chipped in seven.

On the boards, the Wolfpack were led by Servine with four rebounds, while the team totaled 15 rebounds and 13 assists on the night. TCNE forced several turnovers and showed offensive balance, but Winnebago’s scoring depth proved too much to overcome.

With the loss, Tri County Northeast continued its busy road stretch and will look to regroup with a packed schedule ahead featuring:  Hartington-Newcastle, Homer, Wausa and Wakefield.
