Wolfpack Sweep Osmond and Randolph at Randolph Triangular
The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack picked up a straight-set victory over the Osmond Lady Tigers during the Randolph Triangular on Thursday, September 10. TCNE controlled both sets, earning the 2-0 win by scores of 25-19 and 25-17.
Senior Joslyn Mackling led the Wolfpack attack with 12 kills on 35 attempts, while seniors Briley Anderson and sophomore Delaney Fuchser added four kills apiece. Sophomore Cora Ridenour chipped in two kills as TCNE finished with 23 kills as a team. Junior setter Ally Belt directed the offense with 19 assists.
The Wolfpack also found success from the service line, recording four aces. Mackling, Jayda Stallbaum, Belt and Ridenour each contributed an ace, while Anderson and Emily Mitchell were perfect on their serves.
Defensively, TCNE totaled 45 digs in the two-set match. Mackling led the way with 12 digs, followed closely by Ridenour with 11 and Stallbaum with seven. Belt added six digs, while Mitchell contributed four.
The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack solidified their sweep at the Randolph Triangular defeating the host Randolph Lady Cardinals in straight sets. TCNE battled through a tight opening set for a 25-23 victory before taking control in the second, 25-8, to earn the 2-0 sweep.
Senior Joslyn Mackling led the Wolfpack attack with nine kills, while Briley Anderson added seven kills and hit an impressive .545. Sophomore Delaney Fuchser contributed five kills, and junior setter Ally Belt added four while dishing out 18 assists. As a team, TCNE recorded 26 kills and hit .321.
The Wolfpack were especially effective from the service line, piling up 13 aces. Emily Mitchell led the way with five aces, Anderson added four, and Jayda Stallbaum recorded three.
Defensively, Mackling paced TCNE with eight digs, while Emily Mitchell and Belt each added five. Fuchser also recorded the Wolfpack's lone block of the match.
The victory over Randolph capped off a strong triangular for TCNE, as the Wolfpack swept both Osmond and Randolph without dropping a set.
The Wolfpack looks to a busy week of duals ahead facing the Lady Chiefs on the road at Omaha Nation on Monday September 14th and then at home in Allen on Thursday against Creighton.
