Wolfpack Open Home Slate Against Winnebago

The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack volleyball team hosted the Winnebago Lady Indians on Thursday, August 27, at Emerson-Hubbard High School, putting together a balanced performance at the net, serving line and on defense.  The Wolfpack swept the Lady Indians 3-0, set 1- 25-15, set 2- 25-17 and set 3- 25-10.

TCNE totaled 30 kills on 86 attacks during the three-set match. Senior Joslyn Mackling led the Wolfpack attack with 12 kills, averaging four kills per set. Sophomore Delaney Fuchser turned in an efficient performance at the net, recording seven kills on 14 attempts with a .429 hitting percentage. Sophomore Cora Ridenour added six kills while hitting .312, and senior Briley Anderson contributed three kills.

Fuchser also led the Wolfpack blocking effort with three total blocks, including one solo block. Jayda Stallbaum, Anderson, Allyson Belt and Ridenour each contributed a block as TCNE finished with four total team blocks.

Junior setter Ally Belt directed the Wolfpack offense, handing out 24 of the team's 27 assists. The Wolfpack also found success from the service line, recording 12 aces. Ridenour led the way with four aces, while Mackling and Anderson each served three.

Defensively, TCNE recorded 36 digs and committed no digging errors. Senior Emily Mitchell and Mackling led the team with eight digs apiece, while Belt added seven and Ridenour finished with five. E. Mitchell and Mackling also handled much of the serve-receive responsibility, each recording 14 receptions with just one error.

The Wolfpack finished the match with an 82.4 percent serving percentage, putting 61 of their 74 serves in play. Belt was especially steady from the line, serving at 92.9 percent with just one error in 14 attempts, while E. Mitchell was perfect on all five of her serves.

The match was an excellent start to the season for the Wolfpack as they look ahead to a competitive schedule and improving each and every game.
