Wolfpack XC teams show well at Stanton Invitational

One week after a highly competitive meet in Crofton, the TCNE Wolfpack traveled to Stanton for the chance to get back on track and work on their competitive edge. It was a good day for both teams. Two girls and two boys brought home medals at the event, and one athlete just missed medaling while another hit a season best time.

The boys’ team finished 7th out of 11 teams that had enough runners to score as a team. The girls did not have a team score due to being short one runner.

TEAM SCORING BOYS: Pierce 17, Stanton 47, Humphrey-Lindsay 73, Tekamah-Herman 74, Oakland-Craig 82, W-P-B 96, TCNE 121, Osmond 127, Pender 150, Madison 176, B-R 199.

Medaling for the Wolfpack was Rachael Bousquet at 14th running a time of 24:38 in the 41-girl field. Sophomore Chloe Peters picked up her first career medal posting a time of 25:17 good for 19th place. Hailey Millard just missed the medal list running 22nd.

Leading the boy’s team was Jude Ridenour whose time of 18:50 was good for 9th place. Teammate Alex Snyder captured 18th place with a clocking of 20:03. Sophomore Tucker Anderson bettered his season best running 21:32 in the 69-boy field.

COACHES COMMENTS:

“The teams ran better today, even though this was a smaller meet than last week. The athletes are all within a few seconds of the best times of the year, or career at this point. It will be interesting to see if they can break down barriers this week at the conference meet and continue to districts with confidence and momentum. Good Job Teams!”
