Lady Wolfpack Battle in Defensive Road Loss at Wynot

Lady Wolfpack Battle in Defensive Road Loss at Wynot

The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack came up just short Thursday night, falling 38–33 to the Wynot Blue Devils in a low-scoring, defensive-minded varsity girls basketball contest at Wynot High School.

TCNE held the Blue Devils within reach throughout the game but struggled to find offensive rhythm against Wynot’s pressure defense. The Wolfpack finished 12-of-44 shooting from the field (27 percent) and 3-of-18 from three-point range (17 percent). Despite those challenges, TCNE stayed competitive by attacking the glass and converting at the free-throw line, shooting an impressive 6-of-7 (86 percent) from the stripe.

Junior Joslyn Mackling led all Wolfpack scorers with 15 points, taking on much of the offensive load while also collecting three rebounds and three steals. Briley Anderson provided a strong inside presence, scoring 11 points, pulling down six rebounds, and going a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line.

The Wolfpack dominated the rebounding battle, finishing with 35 total rebounds, including eight offensive boards. Freshman DeLaney Fuchser was especially active on the glass, grabbing 13 rebounds to help TCNE generate second-chance opportunities. Defensively, the Wolfpack recorded four steals and one block, keeping the game within reach until the final minutes.

Although the outcome did not fall in their favor, TCNE’s defensive effort and rebounding intensity kept the contest close on the road. The Wolfpack will look to build on that foundation while improving shooting efficiency as they move forward in the season.
