2026 Greater Nebraska Science & Engineering Fair Results
On March 21, 2026, eight students from Allen Consolidated Schools competed in the Greater Nebraska Science & Engineering Fair at Nebraska City Senior High School in Nebraska City, NE. GNSEF is a regional fair that includes much of the eastern portion of Nebraska, bounded on the east by the Missouri River and on the west by highway 281. GNSEF chooses one or two winners to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair each year. Any student in grades 6-12 attending school in this region is eligible to compete. At the end of the science fair Allen Consolidated Schools finished with many awards and medal winners. Winning 1st place in their categories was Brooklyn McCorkindale in Earth & Environmental Science. Brooklyn also finished in the top five Junior Division winners and was selected as a Thermo-Fisher Junior Innovators nominee an award given to the top 3 Junior Division Projects in the Junior Division. Brooklyn was also selected as the top Junior Division project by the Indian Association of Nebraska. Michael Ridenour also won the $100 Richard’s Ag Agency award; an award selected to the top project in Agriculture at GNSEF. Cheyenne Sullivan won the 1st Place Ed & Lee Brogie award, an award given to a top junior division project. Brooklyn McCorkindale was selected as 2nd Place for the Ed & Lee Brogie award. Kaelyn Ankeny was awarded with a $750 scholarship to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln college of agricultural sciences and natural resources. Grace Ankeny was awarded a $1000 scholarship to Wayne State College. These are just a few of the awards that were awarded to the students at Allen Consolidated Schools, the complete listing is below.

Brooklyn McCorkindale: 1st Place Earth & Environmental Sciences, top 5 Junior Division project award $50. Top Three Junior Division Project Nominated for Thermo-Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge National Middle School Science Competition Awarded to the top 10% of the Junior Division Projects in the state, 2nd Place Ed & Lee Brogie Award for Scientific Merit $50, Indian Association of Nebraska Scientific Achievement Award Junior Division $100
