Results of the 2024 Greater Nebraska Science & Engineering Fair in Nebraska City

On March 22-24, 2024, eight students from Allen Consolidated School travelled to Nebraska City to compete in the Greater Nebraska Science & Engineering Fair.  GNSEF is a regional fair that includes much of the eastern portion of Nebraska, bounded on the east by the Missouri River and on the west by Clay County. Anyone in grades 6-12 attending school in this region is eligible to compete. GNSEF chooses one or two winners to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair each year. GNSEF divides projects into 22 categories and two divisions. The junior division includes students in 6th through 8th grade and the senior division includes students in 9th through 12th grade. Categories include Behavioral and Social Sciences, Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Space Sciences, Engineering, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Medicine and Health, Microbiology, Physics and Zoology. Team projects are also accepted. Below is a list of students attending and the awards that each student won.

1st Place in the Microbiology Category Junior Division selected as one of the Top 5 Junior Division Projects presenting at GNSEF.

3rd Place in the Microbiology Category Senior Division, Yale Science & Engineering Association Award- certificate recognizing the most Outstanding Senior Division Exhibit in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry
