Fourth Graders Explore History and Give Back on Field Trip
On Wednesday, December 10, fourth grade students enjoyed a memorable field trip to the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Sioux City. Students toured the museum, learned about the famous expedition, and even “met” Seaman, the Corps of Discovery’s loyal dog. The visit also included an engaging scavenger hunt that helped bring history to life.
Afterward, students traveled to the Sgt. Floyd Monument to learn more about its historical significance and learned more about his death and burial. The group then enjoyed lunch at Mr. Stirfry before making a final stop at Target, where students used donated funds to purchase Christmas gifts for a child in need—ending the day with a meaningful lesson in kindness and generosity.
