LADY TROJANS GO 2-0 AFTER WALTHILL TRIANGULAR
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Lady Trojans traveled to Walthill to face the Blujays and the Cardinals in varsity triangular action on the evening of Tuesday September 24th. Wakefield- Allen swept the triangular defeating both Walthill and Randolph in 2 sets.
During the game against the Blujays, the Trojans dominated early winning 2-0. Set scores: Set 1- 25-7, Set 2- 25-14. Offensively, Rachel Borg and Alli Jackson led the team in kills with 3 a piece followed closely by Alex Arenas with 2. Carly Dickens, Makenna Decker, Jordyn Carr, and Destiny Helzer each added a kill for the Lady Trojans. The team hit at -.032. Setter, Carly Dickens recorded 10 assists. Strong serving helped the Lady Trojans easily overcome the Blujays. Wakefield-Allen served at an impressive 97.9% during the game. Abby Heiman led the team with 5 aces while Dickens added 4. Seven of the Lady Trojan players served at 100% during the game. Defensively, libero, Aishah Valenzuela led the Lady Trojans with 5 digs and 8 serve receive passes.
In the game against the Lady Cardinals, Wakefield-Allen was victorious in two sets. Offensively, kill percentage was much improved in this game with Wakefield-Allen hitting at .101. Jordyn Carr led her team in kills with 6 while Alex Arenas added 4. Rachel Borg (3), Alli Jackson (2), and Carly Dickens (1) each played a vital role in tallying up kills on the night. The team served another great game serving at 95.8%. Dickens, Valenzuela, and Carr each recorded an ace. Four Lady Trojans served at 100% during the game. Defensively, blocking was evident in this game. Alli Jackson led the team with 2 whil Dickens, R. Borg, A. Arenas, and Carr each put up 1. Libero, Aishah Valenzuela once again proved she is a hustler on the court. She racked up 12 digs and 19 serve receive passes. Jordy Carr added 8 serve receives while Alex Arenas had 6.
The Lady Trojans travel to Wynot on Thursday September 26th to face Wynot and LCC in triangular action. Games begin at 5:30pm.
