LADY TROJANS DEFEAT THE PENDRAGONS IN 3
The Wakefield-Allen Lady Trojans traveled to Pender to face the Pendragons on the Saturday September 20th. This is the second time already this volleyball season that these two teams have met. Pender won their first meeting's match however, Wakefield-Allen ran away with the win the second time around! A solid 1st set, set the tone for a successful Lady Trojans team. Final score was W-A 3, P 0. Set Scores: Set 1- W-A 25, P 12 Set 2- W-A 25, P 18 Set 3: W-A 26, P 24.
Kill leader for the Lady Trojans was Alli Jackson with 10. Jordyn Carr (6),Rachel Borg (4), Hayden Ekberg (2), Carly Dickens (2), and Alex Arenas (2) each added vital kills during the game. The team hit at .068 on the night.
Abby Heiman excelled in serving on the night. She had 5 aces and served at 100%. Carly Dickens also had a super serving night racking up 2 aces and also serving at 100%. Chely Dominguez and Carr each added an ace for the team. The Lady Trojans served at 93% against the Pendragons.
A total of 4 blocks were recorded during the match-up. H. Ekberg, Heimann, Jackson, and Carr each put up a block for the Lady Trojans. Defensively, Aishah Valenzuela led in digs with 13. Carr (11), A. Arenas (7), Dominguez (4), Dickens (2), Heiman (2), Jackson (2), H Ekberg (1), and R Borg (1) each contributed defensively to their team. In serve receive passing, Heiman led the team with 15. Valenzuela (11) and Arenas (10), and Carr (9) were also key serve receive passers.
Setter Carly Dickens had 21 assists on the night while Abby Heiman added another.
