ALLEN CONSOLIDATED SCHOOLS GUIDELINES FOR OPENING AND OPERATIONS OF SCHOOL

Open Meeting was held July 17, 2023 at the school

 

Stage One: {Full operations, Minimal Restrictions)

Definition/ Description:  No or minimal confirmed cases within school and/or community.

 

  • All students in attendance following the adopted 2022-2023 school calendar.
  • Masks not required though will be allowed at the discretion of individual students/ parents.
  • Masks are not required for staff though may be worn at their discretion.
  • Masks will be available at the school for any staff member or student who decides to wear a mask.
  • Transportation:
    • Students will be encouraged to spread out on the bus or vehicles they are being transported on.
  • All extra-curricular activities will occur as scheduled.
    • Dependent on current Directed Health Measures (DHM) and or the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) guidelines.
  • Social Distancing to the extent possible during the school day and during activities/events.
    • Students/ Desks/ Tables spread out as much as possible in the classroom.
  • Limit student mobility during the day:
    • Elementary students to remain in classroom as much as possible with teachers traveling between rooms rather than students.
  • Accommodations for lunch:
    • Students will report and be assigned to specific tables.
    • Additional spaces will be used for lunch (commons, gym, outside if weather permits)
  • Designated times and areas for elementary recess.
  • Hand washing after using restroom, before and after lunch, and periodically throughout the school day will be required.
  • Hand sanitizing anytime staff/ students enter or exit a classroom will be encouraged and recommended.
  • Wipe/ spray desks/ tables and chairs after students leave a classroom/work area.
 
  • Staff will observe students for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and promptly refer to nurse or office.
    • All classrooms will have disposable masks to be given to students who are sent to the office or nurse with symptoms. Students with symptoms must wear mask as they travel to office.
  • If anyone has a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, they will be sent to the office. A 2nd temperature reading will be taken. If both readings are 100.4 degrees or higher, parents/guardians will be contacted to pick up the student. The student will be required to stay home for the next 72 hours at minimum or until a normal temperature reading is reported.
  • Students/ Staff who test positive for COVID 19 must test negative and be cleared by a physician prior to returning to school. The school will work with state and local health departments concerning contact tracing and recommended lengths of time for students or staff members to be isolated or quarantined.
  • If students are isolated or quarantined students will be given the opportunity to participate in the classes missed by using the following virtual platforms:
    • 3rd-12th- Google class and zoom during class.
    • Preschool-2nd grade-Seesaw and zoom during class time.
    • Students with disabilities will be given the same accommodations they would receive during the normal school day and they will have daily check in meetings with case managers.

 

 

 

Stage two: (Full District Operations, Restrictions in place)

Definition/ Description:  Moderate Risk-Cases confirmed within the school and/or community.

 

  • All students in attendance
  • ALL PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES FROM STAGE ONE WILL BE IN PLACE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
    • Masks recommended for staff and students at all times except for when they can social distance of 6 feet or more, or while they are eating lunch.
  • All extra-curricular activities will be determined on a case-by-case basis. o   Dependent of current DHM and or NSAA guidelines.

Stage Three : (Limited District Operations, Restrictions in place)

Definitions/ Description: Moderate Risk-Directed Health Measure from Governor's office or Commission of Education Office to reduce the number of students in a school building.

 

  • ALL PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES FROM STAGE ONE AND TWO WILL BE IN PLACE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
    • Masks required of staff and students at all times (except lunch and when not within 6 feet of others)
    • Elementary classes eat lunch in their classrooms
  • All extra-curricular activities will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
    • Dependent of current OHM and or NSAA guidelines.
  • Hybrid schedule of in-person and on-line learning.
    • Pre-K-2: Report to school on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
    • Even number grade levels (4, 6, 8, 10, 12) report to school on Monday and Thursday.
    • Odd number grade levels (3, 5,7, 9, 11} report to school on Tuesday and Friday.
    • When students are not in the school building on designated days, those students will be required to participate in online, graded learning with instruction and assignments.
    • Wednesdays will be designated for sanitizing and cleaning the building.
