The best athletes from North Central and Northeast Nebraska met at the Northeast Nebraska Track and Field Classic to compete to find the best of the area. The meet features all classes in a competition that brings the elite to the forefront.
The Allen track squads were well represented at the meet. The girls squad picked up a first place and fifth place medal. Jordyn Carr’s first place 18’0” long jump was a new school record, as she improved upon her own record set earlier this season. Sophomore, Alli Jackson, finished fifth in the 400, against a very stacked field.
The boys sent four events, medaling in two of the four. The 4X100 relay entered the meet as the fourth seed, but handoff issues kept the Eagle quartet from medaling, as they finished seventh. They will next get a chance for redemption at the Lewis & Clark Meet, Saturday at Plainview.
Junior Noah Carr ran a solid fourth in the 200, running a 23.00 time. The 4x400 relay improved their season best to 3:36 finishing fourth in a highly competitive relay that saw four teams clustered in the last 50 meters of the race.
