Wolfpack X-C teams compete well at L-C-C Invite

The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack girls and boys competed well in a small (11 schools), but tough field of runners at the L-C-C Invite on Thursday, September 7th.

In the girl’s field, sophomore Alejandra Hermosillo brought home a top ten finish, as she placed 9th with a time of 23:51.  It was the second time in three meets Hermosillo garnered a medal.

Junior, Bre Millard, ran a good race, finishing 13th in the field.  Millard posted a time of 24:24.

Sophomore Jenni Olson finished in 28th place, recording at a time of 27:41.  That time compared to the 2022 time of 31:29 was almost 4 minutes better than one year ago.  Senior, Shantel Miller also crushed her 2022 time of 31:44, by posting a time of 29:08.

The three Wolfpack boys ran well but could not make the medal group.  Sophomore Alex Snyder finished 18th with a time of 21:04.  Junior, Devon Lewellen posted a time of 23:09, and sophomore, Sean Lawrence clipped two minutes of his season best with a 28:05 showing.

Next action for the Wolfpack will be Monday, September 11th at Wayne and Thursday, September 14th at Pender.

COACHES COMMENTS:

“The teams performed well today.  They are continuing to improve or meet their current best times.  The team continues to show progress from year one.  The work ethic of the teams is very good, and they are a work in progress.  The times will continue to drop if they continue to work daily.  Great job teams!”
