LADY TROJANS FALL TO PENDRAGONS IN SEASON OPENER

#22 Jordyn CarrThe Wakefield-Allen Lady Trojans hosted the Pendragons of Pender in non-conference action on Thursday December 5th. The Lady Trojans started off slow the first quarter falling behind 7-22. A much better 2nd quarter allowed the Lady Trojans to catch up, a bit before half with the Pendragons leading a score of 37 to 21. The Pendragons dominated the 3rd quarter however the Lady Trojans picked up the pace during the 4th, outscoring the Pendragons 19-8. The Pendragons were able to pull off the win defeating the Lady Trojans 68-52.
Points leaders for Wakefield-Allen were sophomores: Jordyn Carr with 10 and Aishah Valenzeula with 5. The Lady Trojans were 16 for 32 on free throws on the night with Carly Dickens, Alex Arenas, and Kassie Brudigam leading at the line.
Junior, Anna Lundahl was vital as a key rebounder for her team, racking up 8 rebounds on the night. Lundahl also led the team in blocks and with deflections with 3 of each. Rachel Borg also contributed rebounds during the game adding another 5.
