LADY TROJANS LOSE A BATTLE WITH THE LADY INDIANS

The Wakefield-Allen Lady Trojans traveled to Ponca to face the Lady Indians, who hosted a "Pink Out" night in recognition of breast cancer survivors and awareness.  The Lady Trojans made the Lady Indians work for their win after battling back to take the 3rd set and coming close to winning the 4th.  The final score being 3-1.  Set Scores:  Set 1- W/A 15, Ponca 25   Set 2- W/A 18, Ponca 25   Set 3- W/A 25, Ponca 23   Set 4- W/A 20, Ponca 25.  

The Lady Trojans hit at .134 on the night.  Alex Arenas was an offensive machine leading her team with 12 kills followed closely by Jordyn Carr with 11.  Alli Jackson had 4 kills on the night while Abby Heiman and Carly Dickens each added 2 more.  Setter, Carly Dickens was a hustler on the court getting to 31 balls for assists. Serving was more of a struggle this game than it has been recently for the Lady Trojans who served at 87.3%.  Multiple servers for the Wakefield-Allen Lady Trojans accumulated aces during the game.  Dickens, Jackson, Carr, and Chely Dominguez each had an ace.  New comer to the Varsity floor, freshman Olivia Donner served well for the Lady Trojans recording an ace as well.  

Defensively, adding fire to the front row, Hayden Ekberg and Alli Jackson each had 2 key blocks denying the Lady Indians advantage.  Libero, Aisha Valenzuela once again led her team with 24 digs and 25 serve receives.  Heimann and Carr were also vital defenders on the night.  Heimann had 15 digs and 18 serve receives while Carr contributed 15 digs and 19 serve receives.  

The Lady Trojans with host the Creighton Bulldogs in C-B-A action at Wakefield on Thursday October 10th beginning at 5:30pm.  The Lady Trojans are having a "Pink Out" theme that night and request that fans put on their favorite pink attire in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
