EAGLES ARE SOLID AT FIRST TRACK MEET OF THE SEASON
Jordyn Carr Breaks School Long Jump Record!
Eagles participate in highly competitive Cedar Catholic Invitational….
It was a cool and breezy day, but as the day unfolded, it was a day of surprises. The action on the track at Cedar Catholic though, was very intense and very good. The boys squad finished fourth in the 12 team field, while the girls finished tied for seventh.
The Eagles took upon competing with some of the better Class C teams in Northeast Nebraska, as they ran, jumped and threw with Battle Creek, Crofton, and Cedar Catholic. Also, Hartington-Newcastle, St. Mary’s, Bloomfield, Randolph, Niobrara-Verdigre, and Wynot spiked the field to make it difficult at best to find the placing podium for the day.
The Eagle squads turned in some very nice performances. A complete list of individuals and relays are listed below with their performances. Headlining the list of impressive individual performances, freshmen Jordyn Carr broke a 41 year old long jump school record popping of a leap of 17’10”. Not to be outdone, brother, Noah Carr flirted with school record territory running 23.0 in the 200 meters, easily distancing the field. The boys 4X800 relay as well as 4X400 relays both were victorious, and a mishandling of the baton kept the Eagles from winning the 4X100 relay.
