Wakefield-Allen began their invitational tournament facing the Bears of Laurel-Concord Coleridge.  The Trojans dominated the Bears in the first set, taking it 25-11.  In the second set L-C-C fired up a beat defeating W-A 25-21.  In the final set of the game, the Bears led quickly but the Trojans setter, Cassidy Thomas made multiple ace serves in a row to get them back in the game.  W-A could not hang on to the win in the end.  The score in set 3 was LCC 25, W-A 19.  Final Score:  LCC 2, W-A 1.

Kill leaders for the Trojans during the game were middle hitter, Summer Jackson with 7 and outside hitter, Haley Stapleton with 6.  Jackson did not give a whole lot of heat on her kills but happened to place them in holes where points were possible.  Devaney Brown and Courtney Bokemper added 5 kills each for the Trojans.

Cassidy Thomas led the team in serves with much needed aces in the third set.  Thomas recorded 4 aces during the match.  Brown also recorded an ace.  Stapleton, Dolph, and Brown served 100% during the game.

Devaney Brown put up the only successful block during the game.

Defensively, Jamie Dolph led the Trojans in digs with 26 followed by Courtney Bokemper with 17.  Dolph also led in serve receive with 22 passes. 

Setters Cassidy Thomas and Breanna Chase led their team in assists with 8 and 7, respectively.

The Trojans had 2 games off before competing in the last game of night against the Indians from Ponca.  After 2 close sets, Ponca won 2-0.  Set 1:  Ponca 25, W-A 21; Set 2:  Ponca 25, W-A 23.  

Middle hitter Devaney Brown was solid up front with 11 kills.  Courtney Bokemper added 7 kills for the Trojans.

Libero, Jamie Dolph had 2 ace serves during the match while Brown added 1.  Stapleton, Dolph, Thomas, and Brown all served 100% during the game.

Dolph and Thomas led W-A in digs.  Dolph had 17 and Thomas added 13.  Dolph recorded 20 serve receives during the match.

Setters Cassidy Thomas and Breanna Chase led the team in assists.  Thomas had 14 where as Chase had 11.

Saturday September 8, 2018

The Trojans began the second day of their invitational tournament facing the Blue Jays of Pierce.  The game went 2 sets with Pierce taking both.  Set scores:  Set 1- W-A 15, Pierce 25; W-A 21, Pierce 25.

Offensively, the team served at 82.9% and had a 20% in overall team kills.

Haley Stapleton, Jamie Dolph, and Summer Jackson served at 100% during the match.  Stapleton and Breanna Chase each contributed an ace serve.

The Trojans were not strong on individual kills during this game however, multiple players contributed kills in small numbers.  Courtney Bokemper, Summer Jackson, Breanna Chase, Cassidy Thomas and Hayden Ekberg each recorded 2 kills.  

Defensively, Hayden Ekberg led the Trojans in blocks with 2.  Libero, Jamie Dolph led W-A in serve receive passes with 17 while Courtney Bokemper led the team in digs with 11.  

In the second game on Saturday, W-A faced BRLD.  This game was a hard fought battle with W-A winning the 1st set 25-18, BRLD won the 2nd set 20-25 as well taking the 3rd 25-16.  Final score was W-A 1, BRLD 2.

Leading server for the Trojans was Cassidy Thomas with 2 aces.  Haley Stapleton and Thomas served 100% contributing to a 90% serving percentage by W-A.

Middle hitter, Devaney Brown was on fire for W-A with 10 kills followed by Haley Stapleton with 7.  

Setter Cassidy Thomas contributed 17 assists for her team.

Libero, Jamie Dolph led the Trojans in both serve receive passes and digs.  She passed 29 successful passes on serve receive and dug up 21 balls.

Brown played competitive upfront, putting up 3 blocks for the Trojans. 

In the last game of the day, W-A faced Homer.  The game went 2 sets with the Trojans pulling of the win 2-0, in an intense last set.  Set Scores:  Set 1- W-A 25- Homer 22; Set 2- W-A 28, Homer 26.

Ace servers for the Trojans were Haley Stapleton, Courtney Bokemper, and Carly Dickens.  Bokemper, Jamie Dolph, Dickens, Cassidy Thomas, and Devaney Brown each served at a 100%.  Overall Trojan serving percentage was much imporved this game with 94.2%.

Haley Stapleton and Courtney Bokemper led W-A in kills with 5 each.  Summer Jackson and Devaney Brown followed closely with 4 kills each.

Setters, Cassidy Thomas and Breanna Chase led the team with assists with a combined total of 14.

Jamie Dolph led the Trojans in serve receives with 10 followed closely by Stapleton and Chase with 8.  

Middle hitter, Devaney Brown led her team in blocks with 2.

Outside hitter, Haley Stapleton led W-A in digs with 17.
