The first match-up of the night for the Trojans was against the Tigers of North Bend Central.  Both teams are classified as C-1 this season.  North Bend won the match beating W-A in 2 sets.  Set 1:  18-25, Set 2: 26-28.  This was the Trojans first official game of the season, and first game together with Allen in the recent cooperative agreement.

Trojan kill leaders during the match were outside hitter, Courtney Bokemper and middle hitter Devaney Brown each with 6.  Setter Abby Heimann added 4 kills for W-A. 

Leading servers for the Trojans were Courtney Bokemper with 100% serving percentage and one ace followed by Jamie Dolph with 87.5% with one ace and setter, Cassidy Thomas with 85.7%. 

Libero, Jamie Dolph the leading serve receiver followed by Haley Stapleton.  Dolph also led the team in digs with 19 followed by Brown with 11. 

 

In the second match of the tournament, W-A faced Oakland-Craig.  The Knights overtook the match quickly winning over the Trojans, 2-0.  Set Scores:  Set 1:  O-C 25, W-A 12 and Set 2:  O-C 25, W-A 15.

Kill leaders for W-A were outside hitters, Haley Stapleton and Courtney Bokemper each with 2 as well as middle hitter Devaney Brown with 2 kills.

The Knights held the Trojans to only 7 points from serves during the match. No ace serves were made by W-A.  Leading servers were Cassidy Thomas with 1 point and Abby Heimann with 2 points both serving 100%.  Dolph contributed 2 points from serves and served at an 80% during the game.

Leading serve receiver again for this match was libero Jamie Dolph with 10.  Dolph also led W-A in digs with 8 followed closely by Stapleton and Abby Heimann each with 7.

In the second round of tournament play in the Northeast Nebraska volleyball classic, the Wakefield-Allen Trojans first faced the Blue Jays of Guardian Angels Central Catholic.  Due to their losses on Thursday evening, this game was played at Pender.  The Blue Jays took the match in 2 sets.  Final scores:  Set 1: GACC 25, W-A 18  Set 2:  GACC 25, W-A 18.

Seniors Courtney Bokemper (OH) and Cassidy Thomas (S) led the team in serves with 100% serving each.  Bokemper had 4 serve attempts while Thomas had 11.

Kill leaders for the Trojans during the game were middle hitter Devaney Brown with 6 and outside hitter Haley Stapleton with 5.  Setter Abby Heimann had the best overall kill percentage with 60% (.400). 

Setter Cassidy Thomas led the team in assists with 6.

The leading serve receiver for W-A was libero Jamie Dolph with 17 recorded receives.  Haley Stapleton was also vital on serve receive with 10.  Dolph also led her team in digs with 21.

Summer Jackson put up 1 successful solo block for the Trojans.

The second game of the day for W-A was against Tekamah-Herman.  After a tough first set for the Trojans, this game ended up lasting 3 sets with W-A winning 2-1.  Set scores:  Set 1- T-H 25, W-A 13  Set 2- W-A 25, T-H 16  Set 3- W-A 25, T-H 22. 

Abby Heimann, Cassidy Thomas, and Courtney Bokemper each led the team in serving, each with 100% during the match.  Bokemper and Haley Stapleton each recorded 2 aces during the game.

Outside hitter Haley Stapleton and middle hitter Summer Jackson led the Trojans in kills.  Stapleton had 6 while Jackson added 5.

Setters Cassidy Thomas and Abby Heimann led in assists with 10 between the two of them. 

Leading serve receiver by far was libero Jamie Dolph with 26.  Dolph also led the team in digs with 19.

No blocks were recorded during this game.

In the last game of the tournament for W-A, they faced the home court team, Pender.  Wakefield took an early lead, winning the first set by 9 points.  Pender came back to take the game in very close 2nd and 3rd sets.  The final score was Pender 2, W-A 1.  Set Scores:  Set 1- W-A 25, Pender 16  Set 2- Pender 25, W-A 20, and Set 3- Pender 25, W-A 22. 

Jamie Dolph led the team in serves, serving 100%. Abby Heimann and Courtney Bokemper each recorded an ace serve during the game.

Middle hitter, Devaney Brown led the Trojans in kills with 8.  Summer Jackson (MH) and Courtney Bokemper (OH) followed closely with 6.

Senior setter, Cassidy Thomas led W-A in assists with 12 during the match.

Libero, Jamie Dolph led the team defensively with 25 serve receive passes and 20 digs.

Devaney Brown led the team in blocks with 3 solo.
