The Allen Eagles traveled to Cedar Catholic High School to play the Santee Warriors in the first round of the D2-4 sub-districts on Monday February 19, 2018.  The Eagles came out strong against a physical Warriors team.  Allen outscored Santee in each period of the game with the 3rd quarter being the closest in points.  The Eagles came up with the win with the final score being Allen 62, Santee 45.

Points by Quarter:

Q1:  Allen 15, Santee 10

Q2:  Allen 14, Santee 10

Q3:  Allen 23, Santee 21

Q4:  Allen 10, Santee 4

Points leader for the Eagles was sophomore Brogan Jones with an impressive 22 points during the game.  Lukas Oswald added 12 points for the Eagles while Noah Carr and Steven Cooks each had 9.  Aden Anderson and Kobe Kumm put up 4 more points each while Reed Hingst added 2.

Lukas Oswald and Noah Carr were key 3 point shooters during the game.  Lukas went 2 for 4 and Noah was 2 for 5 from outside the arch.

Aden Anderson and Lukas Oswald were the leading free throw shooters both shooting 2 for 2 from the line.  Brogan Jones was 6 for 8 while Noah Carr was 1 for 2 and Steven Cooks 1 for 4.  

The Eagles racked up a total of 28 rebounds during the game.  Leading Eagle rebounder was Brogan Jones with 7 (4 offensive, 3 defensive) followed closely by Noah Carr with 6 (3 offensive, 3 defensive) and Lukas Oswald with 5 (3 offensive, 2 defensive).  Kobe Kumm added 4 more rebounds (1 offensive, 3 defensive) for the Eagles. while Aden Anderson had 2 defensive rebounds and Steven Cooks had 1 offensive rebound.  

Brogan Jones led Allen in steals with 5 followed closely by Noah Carr with 3 and Steven Cooks with 2.  Lukas Oswald added another steal for Allen.

Allen will face Wynot in the 2nd round of sub-districts on Tuesday evening at 6pm.  The game will be held at Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington.
