DECEMBER 18, 2017 MUSIC BOOSTER MEETING MINUTES

Music Boosters Meeting Minutes

Date: November 20, 2017

Time: 7:00-7:42 PM
Location: Allen School, Multi-purpose room

 

Attendees: Richie Monteith, Melissa Rahn, Suzy Gonzales, Richard Lacy, Jayme Floyd, Marlene Levine, Candy Strivens, Libby Green, Stacey Woodward, Greta Kraemer, Jeff Geiger, Greg Carr, Nancy Krommenhoek

 

Absent Officers: Bailey Diediker & Linda Roth

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm, by Richie Monteith.  0

 

Approval of minutes: minutes were approved unanimously

 

Treasures Report:  We currently have $2611.00 in our checking, $343.00 in our Savings; bringing our total to $2954.00.  Also $400.00 was turned in from the Bake sale and T-shirt sales during the Christmas concert on December 15.  Melissa motioned, Jeff second, motion passed unanimously. 

 

Band director’s report:  We depart for Texas in a week.  Khaki pants are in and need to be tried on ASAP.  Please let Mrs. Levine know if there are any problems.

 

There will be an all band rehearsal on Thursday, December 21 & Friday, December 22 from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM both days.

 

Mr. Lacy currently has $7000.00 roughly in his fundraising account.  Each student will receive $50-60 back on their registration the day of departure to use towards meals or souvenirs.

 

KTIV was at the school on Monday, December 18 to interview Mr. Lacy and the students.  This aired that night and a link has been posted to the Music Boosters & Allen Community Facebook pages.

 

Sponsor meeting went well.  A pack of information went out to all students to take home on Monday, December 18th.  Any questions please contact Mr. Lacy

 

Old Business:

 

Bob’s Bar coffee money turned in was $111.00.  This brings our Bob’s coffee money to $2,137.25.  This was the last month we would be receiving the coffee donations from Bob’s Bar.  Thank you to everyone who gave your donations and to Bob’s Bar for your support.

 

Bowl shirt are selling now for $15.00-$17.00/shirt.  See Mrs. Levine to get yours today.  Richie received approval to order some additional shirts.  He will be ordering 2XL, 3XLT, 4XLT.  The 2XL & 3XLT will be selling for $17.00 each and the 4XLT will be selling for $20.00 each.

 

Ham orders have been turned in.  We ordered 128 hams at a cost of $7.90 each for a profit of $1,011.20

 

New Business:           

 

First Aid Supplies: Mr. Lacy has been working with Sheila Baker on gathering a list and items of what we should take along for first aid/medical supplies on the trip.

 

Richie passed around a clear bag policy for the Alamo Bowl.  A copy of this will be posted on the Booster Facebook page.

 

Mr. Lacy is suggesting each student have $150-200 with them for the trip and he highly suggest a debit card instead of cash.

 

Mr. Lacy will also be putting together a packing list for students with specifics.

 

Mr. Lacy will also be putting together 7 clip boards for loading, rotations, rooming, etc.  NOTE: NO ROOM CHANGES WILL BE MADE WHILE IN TEXAS FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY REASONS

 

Melissa will be picking up the ham from Marcia Rastede on either Thursday or Friday of this week.  Sponsors and parents will start assembling sandwiches and lunches at 1:00 PM on December 25 for everyone traveling as one of their meals.

At this time, Richie asked for a motion to adjourn our meeting.  Greg motioned, Jeff second, motion carried and was adjourned at 7:42 PM3. It is a sponsored trip. There will be at least 1 adult per 4 children going.

 

Next Meeting: January 15, 2018 @ 7:00 PM,  

Location, Allen School, All boosters meeting will be held on the 3rd Monday of each month.
