Music Boosters Meeting Minutes

Date: September 18, 2017

Time: 7:05-8:00 PM
Location: Allen School, Common’s Area


Attendees: Richie Monteith, Melissa Rahn, Brad & Suzy Gonzales, Richard Lacy, Jayme Floyd


Absent Officers: Bailey Diediker & Linda Roth


Meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm, by Richie Monteith. 


Approval of minutes: Minutes passed unanimously


Treasures Report:  We currently have $19,619.00 in our checking, $343.00 in our Savings and $5,011 in a CD gaining $0.43 interest.  Bringing our total to $24,972.00.  Melissa Rahn motioned, Brad Gonzales second, motion passed unanimously.  American Legion gave a $500 donation.  CD comes due on December 19th and we have 10 days to remove the money.


Band director’s report:  We have 69 people attending the Alamo Bowl (53 students and 13 adults).  There will be a 56 passenger charter bus going down along with 3 school vans.  Rooming list to be out for students on 9/19/17 and will finalize on 9/25/17. 


Currently the fundraising account at the school at $12,500.00. Estimating cookie dough and puffins sales we should be around $57,000.00 between all of the accounts.  Students have a deadline of October 16th to pay the $200 for the trip.  If there is going to be a problem with this please see Mr. Lacy.  Next payment of $16,500.00is due on 9/20/17 and this payment will come out of the booster account.  Then on 11/09/17 the final payment is due and will be out of the school account.


Mr. Lacy strongly suggest the students carry a debit card instead of cash on this trip.  Students and sponsors will be departing on December 25 at 3:00 PM.


Old Business:


Bob’s bar coffee money turned in was $111.00.  This brings our Bob’s coffee money to $1,757.25.  The Bob’s coffee fundraiser will continue until we leave for the Alamo bowl.


Students are going to start collecting sponsorships for our Bowl t-shirts beginning on 9/19/17 – 10/02/17.  Cost will be $50-$100


New Business:           

We will be discussing uniforms at our Oct 16th meeting

At this time, Richie asked for a motion to adjourn our meeting.  Melissa Rahn motioned, Brad Gonzales second, motion carried and was adjourned at 8:00 PM3. It is a sponsored trip. There will be at least 1 adult per 4 children going.


Next Meeting: October 16, 2017 @ 7:00 PM,
