LADY EAGLES GO 1-2 AT PONCA TOURNAMENT ON SEPT. 26TH

Allen volleyball participated in a volleyball tournament hosted by Ponca on the evening of Tuesday September 26, 2017.  Allen, Emerson-Hubbard, Wynot, and Ponca all competed.

The Lady Eagles played the Lady Pirates of Emerson-Hubbard in their first game of the tournament.  Allen had a fierce first set winning 25-12.  Emerson-Hubbard came out strong the second set however Allen was able to over power them.  Allen won the game, winning the second set 25-18.

Lady Eagle kill leader was by far Bri Hingst with 12.  Right side, Carly Dickens added 3 while Haley Stapleton, Summer Jackson, Cassidy Thomas, and Desi Martell each contributed 2 kills during the game.

Bri Hingst and Haley Stapleton were the super servers during the game each having 4 aces.  Carly Dickens and Summer Jackson each had an ace during the game.

Digging was the name of the game during this game.  All of the Lady Eagles who took the court recorded a dig.  Haley Stapleton led Allen with 9 digs.  Carly Dickens and Cassidy Thomas each added 6 more digs while Summer Jackson had 5, Desi Martell 4, and Bri Hingst 3.  Katie Bathke and Mallory Geiger each had a dig during the game.

During the second game of the tournament, Allen faced the Lady Indians of Ponca.  Ponca won the game in 2 sets.  Set scores:  Set 1- Ponca 25, Allen 12  Set 2- Ponca 25, Allen 16.

Kill leader during this game was once again Bri Hingst with 9.  Summer Jackson added 4 while Desi Martell and Haley Stapleton each had 3 kills.  Carly Dickens recorded 1 kill during this game.

Ponca's strong serve receive, made it tough for the Lady Eagles to get an ace serve against the Lady Indians.

Leading diggers for Allen were Bri Hingst and Haley Stapleton with 12.  Cassidy Thomas added another 11 digs for the Lady Eagles.  Summer Jackson had 10 digs during the match.  Desi Martell recorded 6 while Carly Dickens added 2 and Mallory Geiger had 1. 

Carly Dickens and Cassidy Thomas each had a block during this match.  

Allen's last game of the tournament was between the Lady Eagles and the Lady Blue Devils of Wynot.  After a close 2nd set, Wynot won the game in 2.  Set Scores: Set 1- Wynot 25, Allen 16.  Set 2- Wynot 25, Allen 22.

Allen's kill leader was Summer Jackson with 6 followed closely by Desi Martell with 5.  Bri Hingst added 3 kills and Cassidy Thomas and Haley Stapleton added 2 more kills.

Cassidy Thomas recorded the only ace serve during the game.  

Leading diggers for Allen were:  Haley Stapleton with 12, Cassidy Thomas with 11, and Bri Hingst with 10.  Carly Dickens had 6 digs while Summer Jackson added 5.  Desi Martell recorded 4 digs and Alyssa Boese had 1.

Summer Jackson had 1 block during the game.
