ALLEN LADY EAGLES EARN 2ND PLACE IN BRONZE DIVISION OF THE NORTHEAST NEBRASKA CLASSIC VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

The Lady Eagles earned 2nd place metals in the bronze division of the Northeast Nebraska Volleyball Tournament held in Pender on Saturday September 2, 2017.  

In the first game of the day, Allen lost 1-2, in 3 sets against Oakland-Craig.  Set Scores- Set 1:  Allen 25- O/C 21, Set 2:  Allen 15- O/C 25, Set 3:  Allen 15 - O/C 25.  

Kill leaders for the Eagles during the match were junior Summer Jackson with 10 followed by senior Bri Hingst with 7 and junior Haley Stapleton with 6.  Senior, Desi Martell recorded 4 kills for Allen while junior and setter of the team Cassidy Thomas had 3.  

All Lady Eagle starters recorded 1 ace serve during the game.  Summer Jackson had a total of 2 aces.

Cassidy Thomas and Haley Stapleton led the Eagles in digs each recording 15.  Bri Hingst also held her own in digs during the game with a total of 12.  

 

The Lady Eagles took on the Lady Pendragons of Pender in the second game of the day.  Allen came out storming and beat Pender 2-0.  Set Scores- Set 1:  Allen 26 - Pender 24, Set 2:  Allen 25 - Pender 22.  

Senior, Bri Hingst led the Lady Eagles in kills with 7 followed closely by junior Haley Stapleton with 6 and junior Summer Jackson with 5.  Senior Desi Martell had 4 kills during the game and Cassidy Thomas and Carly Dickens each added one kill for Allen. 

Ace servers for Allen were Haley Stapleton with 3.  Cassidy Thomas added 3 aces for the Eagles while Freshman Carly Dickens had 1 ace.

The dynamic diggers for Allen were Haley Stapleton with 17, Summer Jackson with 16, and Bri Hingst with 15.

Summer Jackson put up the only successful block during the game.  

 

The third and final match of the day was a battle between Allen and Bancroft-Rosalie-Lyons-Decatur.  Allen lost a close one in the 3rd set.  Final score, 1-2 BRLD.  Set Scores- Set 1:  Allen 25 - BRLD 21, Set 2:  Allen 10 - BRLD 25, Set 3:  Allen 20 - BRLD 25.  

Kill leaders during this game were senior Bri Hingst with 11, followed by junior Cassidy Thomas with 7.  Haley Stapleton and Summer Jackson had 3 kills.  Desi Martell had 1. 

Cassidy Thomas led the Lady Eagles in aces with 3.  Summer Jackson, Bri Hingst, and Desi Martell each had 1 ace during the game.

Dig leaders during this game were Bri Hingst and Haley Stapleton with 14 followed by Carly Dickens and Desi Martell with 11.  Summer Jackson and Cassidy Thomas each added 10 digs for Allen.

Bri Hingst and Desi Martell each put up a block during the game.  

The Eagles are currently 1-4 on a competitive start to their season.  Conference play begins this week for Allen with home games against Wynot on Tuesday Sept. 5th and Bloomfield and Wausa on Thursday Sept. 7th.
